Originally a small, sleepy fishing village and harbour surrounded
by a few houses, Ayia Napa has fast become a popular resort,
particularly with families and young people. The shimmering
clear blue waters and white sandy beaches provide an exceptional
setting for beach lovers, and the resort offers plenty of
exciting activities for families.
Ayia Napa boasts a superb Venetian
period monastery with a central octagonal fountain. It lends
character and substance to a place much better known for its
colourful vibrant shops, clubs and bars. There
is also a small Marine Museum, which presents exhibits both
of the past and the present.
The delicious smell of cooking wafting from the waterside,
tempts you to enjoy a real feast. The town boasts every type
of eatery imaginable - from the simple to the sophisticated,
from casual cafes to the chicest restaurants, both local and
international.
